Ms. Daugherty's Journey 2 Learn...

Well, here I am finally. From Xanga, to MySpace, to Orkut, to Facebook, I'm finally nestling into 21Publish as our classroom blog. Most of you know this is my attempt at adding a new element to my classroom after 12 years of all the traditional jazz (which I imagine all of you think my assignments are anything but traditional.)

If you are enrolled in any of my classes at Willow Springs High School, you are in the right spot. For now, we'll all just blog together and I'll try to tag specific blogs for specific blocks.

As far as rules, it's a monarchy. :) ...(and guess who is the reigning Queen.) All rules in your handbook and your Internet usage rules apply here.

This blog will be used for serious discussion and for educational purposes. Any posts that indicate otherwise will be deleted.

As far as posting...it's up to you and it's anonymous. You will only be allowed to post from the account and password I give to you.

Again, this is an enhancement to the classroom. I hope you find it an interesting change of pace, and I hope you find the time to read and post.

Happy blogging,

Ms. Daugherty

Hully Gee. Aint no skool tomorra.

SAY - I sure am glad bout not haffin ta go ta school tomarra. Im perty sure der aint gun be none de next day neither. This blog

is the most confusing website I have ever attempted to navigate. Ms. Daugherty, it would be in your best interest to post a navigational tutorial for this blog.

Lord of the Flies

Lord of the Flies is a tough book to read and follow, but I kind of like it in a just read on to find out what happens next because the suspense is there. Not the kind of suspense I absolutely love, but the kind that says it will get more interesting as you go along and read careful or you may miss something very important or shocking. Some of the characters remind me of how boys act in today's world such as savage hunters after the wild pigs. Other than that the book seems to far fetched for reality, which is a bit out of my taste.

The Book is a little too deep

What is up class? So this book Lord of the Flies isn't the best book I've ever read. I'm only to the seventh chapter but the way the book is written, without stopping at the end of every sentence and trying to decipher the meaning behind the unusual arrangement of vocabulary, it makes it hard to follow the story. I think the book would be much easier to read if it were read with dictionary.com standing by for definitions.

I think I really like this book. It was a little confusing at first. From what I understand I like it.
